In support of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) program at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Social Welfare Department collaborates with the World of Industry and Business (DUDI) in the East Java region in the Community Empowerment School Program. This collaboration aims to improve students’ skills in social work practices and help students to learn by going directly into the world of work. Several partners from the World of Industry and Business (DUDI) incorporated into the Empowerment School Program are Woman Crisis Centre (WCC) Dian Mutiara, the Institute for Community and Development Studies (LPKP), the Bhakti Luhur Foundation, and PT. Circular Nutrition Innovations.
Monday (21/08/2023), Social Welfare Department of FISIP UMM, together with partners from the World of Industy and Business (DUDI) held a meeting to discuss the CoE curriculum that will be implemented at the Community Empowerment School. This activity took place in the UMM My Dormy Hostel meeting room and was attended by the UMM CoE Director, Head of Social Welfare Department, Head of Social Welfare Laboratory, all Social Welfare lecturers, and partners from the World of Industry and Business (DUDI), namely Woman Crisis Centre (WCC) Dian Mutiara, Institute for Community and Development Studies (LPKP), Bhakti Luhur Foundation, and PT. Circular Nutrition Innovations.
The CoE curriculum discussion event discussed MoU and MoA with DUDI partners, CoE Curriculum, Semester Learning Plans (RPS), CoE Instructors, and outreach to students.The Department of Social Welfare and DUDI partners looked enthusiastic and shared their brilliant ideas in designing the Community Empowerment School Program.
“I hope that our CoE program will run well, and can produce seeds that are superior and have the competence to enter the world of work.” Said Mr. Eko Rizqi Purwo Widodo, MSW as the Head of Social Welfare Laboratory.
The launch of the CoE curriculum program will take place soon after the next meeting. It is estimated that the CoE program of Social Welfare FISIP UMM, namely the Community Empowerment School will be launched in early September 2023.
