In the Social Welfare Study Program of FISIP UMM, students are not only active in academic activities, but also have a variety of non-academic activities that are rich in experience. These activities aim to develop soft skills, expand networks, and deepen understanding of social issues through a more personal and direct approach. Some of the non-academic activities that our students participate in include :
1. International Guest Lecture
This activity invites speakers from abroad, such as academics, practitioners, or experts in the field of social welfare, to share their knowledge and experience. The objectives are to (1) provide a global perspective on social welfare issues, such as poverty, public health, migration, and child protection, (2) help students understand social welfare practices in various countries, including innovative approaches that can be adopted in Indonesia, and (3) improve students' English language skills and introduce them to international academic culture.

Case studies from their work experience, such as in dealing with street children, victims of violence, or social disasters. As well as providing career tips and student readiness to work in the social welfare sector after graduation. The advantages of this activity are: (1) connecting the theory learned in class with real practice in the field, and (2) motivating students with success stories and inspiration from practitioners.
4. Inaugural Lecture
The Inaugural Lecture is an important moment to introduce new students to study programs, including Social Welfare (Kesos) at FISIP UMM. An explanation of Social Welfare usually includes organized efforts to improve the quality of life of individuals, groups, and communities through social programs, policies, and services. The main focus is on helping vulnerable people, such as children, the elderly, people with disabilities, or the poor, to live a better life.
