At the Social Welfare Study Program, FISIP UMM, students are not only engaged in academic activities but also actively participate in various non-academic experiences. These activities aim to develop soft skills, expand networks, and deepen their understanding of social issues through a more hands-on and personal approach.
Some of the non-academic activities our students engage in include:
1. Student Association (HMJ)
Students can join the Social Welfare Student Association (HMJ) to hone their organizational skills, lead social programs, and contribute to community service activities.
2. Social Activities and Community Service
The Social Welfare Study Program regularly organizes social activities such as charity events, health campaigns, community development in rural areas, and assistance for marginalized groups. These activities give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge directly.
3. Discussions and Seminars on Social Issues
Students actively hold and participate in discussions and seminars on current social issues, such as poverty alleviation, child protection, women's empowerment, and disaster management.
4. Disaster and Humanitarian Volunteering
Many of our students volunteer in various emergency response and humanitarian programs under both internal campus organizations and external organizations. This provides them with hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of challenges on the ground.
Through these non-academic activities, students of the Social Welfare Study Program at UMM not only grow to become competent social workers but also empathetic individuals, ready to make a real impact on society.
