SOCIAL WELFARE STUDENT ASSOCIATION (HIMAKS FISIP UMM)

The Social Welfare Student Association (HIMAKS) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is a forum for student organizations that functions as a place to gather, work, and contribute for students of the Social Welfare Study Program. HIMAKS aims to develop students' academic potential, interests, and talents, as well as facilitate activities that support scientific development and professionalism in the field of social welfare.

As one of the organizations engaged in the social sphere, HIMAKS also plays a role in studying social issues, establishing cooperation with various parties, and initiating programs that have a direct impact on society. The activities carried out by HIMAKS cover various aspects such as academic discussions, social services, community service, as well as training and seminars to increase student capacity.

HIMAKS FISIP UMM is a bridge for students to not only develop in academic aspects, but also in the social field, so as to produce graduates who are not only competent in social welfare theory, but also have practical abilities in dealing with social problems in society.

The Social Welfare Student Association (HIMAKS) in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has an organizational structure led by the Executive Board (Badan Pengurus Harian or BPH). The BPH is the core leadership responsible for managing all organizational activities and coordinating the divisions under it. The BPH is supported by five divisions that work together synergistically, namely:

  1. Public Relations Division (Humas): Responsible for maintaining and building relationships with external parties such as other organizations, media, and the community, as well as managing HIMAKS’s public relations and communications.

  2. Student Resource Development Division (PSDM): Focuses on developing students' abilities, potential, and quality through training, seminars, and activities aimed at enhancing student competencies.

  3. Talent and Interest Division (MINBAK): Facilitates and supports students in channeling their talents and interests, whether in arts, sports, or other hobbies, by organizing various activities or competitions.

  4. Academic Division: Manages activities related to the development of students' academic and intellectual knowledge, such as academic discussions, seminars, and research to enhance students’ scholarly insight.

  5. Funding and Business Division (Danus): Responsible for managing HIMAKS’s financial resources, usually through business ventures or fundraising activities to support the organization’s programs.

The synergy between these divisions allows HIMAKS to run an effective and impactful work program for Social Welfare students at UMM. In addition, for more information about HIMAKS can be seen in the Barcode listed below as follows:
