ROUTINE ACTIVITIES OF SOCIAL WELFARE STUDY PROGRAM STUDENTS

Routine Activities of Social Welfare Study Program Students

Students in the Social Welfare Study Program are routinely involved in various activities that aim to support their academic development, skills, and social sensitivity. Here are some of the routine activities organized:

1. Scientific Discussions and Seminars
Scientific discussions and seminars are held regularly to enhance students' knowledge of current social welfare issues. These activities involve lecturers, practitioners, and experts from various related fields to provide deeper insights.

2. Field Courses and Practicum
As part of the curriculum, students often conduct field lectures and practicums at social institutions, orphanages, or government agencies engaged in social welfare. This provides hands-on experience in dealing with social issues in the community.

3. Community Service Activities
Community service is one of the activities routinely carried out by Social Welfare students. This activity includes community empowerment programs, social campaigns, and providing assistance to community groups in need.

4. Skill Development Workshop
Skills development programs are routinely held to improve students' soft skills and hard skills, such as communication training, conflict mediation, crisis handling, and case management. The goal is to prepare students to become competent social workers.

5. Organizational and Leadership Activities
Students are also active in various student organizations, such as the Social Welfare Student Association (HIMAKS). These activities include leadership training, work meetings, and various social programs coordinated by the student association.

6. Academic Mentoring
The academic mentoring program is conducted regularly to assist students, especially new students, in adjusting to the academic and lecture environment. Seniors in the study program act as mentors who provide guidance in academic and non-academic matters.

These activities aim to facilitate students in improving competence, honing social sensitivity, and building professional networks in the field of social welfare.
