Group 3 of the COE Social Welfare Student Internship conducted a stress management socialization for their profession on June 16, 2024, held at the residence of a member of Anggrek Maya (AM) in Kucur, Dau District, Malang Regency, East Java.

The COE internship program by Social Welfare students provides an opportunity for them to apply their skills in real-life settings. The activities conducted aim to benefit both partners and the community, promoting the development and application of human resources based on research outcomes and collaboration with the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM).

During the internship period, Group 3 focused on the Socialization of Stress Management for Their Profession. The participants benefiting from this program were 18 members of the Malang Raya Work Revolution Movement Association (Anggrek Maya).

Stress is the body's response to physical, emotional, or mental pressure that can disrupt an individual's normal balance. It can arise from various factors such as work demands, financial issues, or significant life changes.

Anggrek Maya (AM) is an organization of domestic workers (PRT) based in both Malang City and its surrounding regencies. It serves as a platform for members to gain knowledge, share experiences, and hone their skills, particularly in building self-capacity for their work. Stress among AM domestic workers often stems from heavy workloads, time pressures, and their employers' behavior toward them.

This activity was also attended by Mr. Zaenal Abidin, S.Sos., M.Si. as the speaker for the socialization of stress management in the profession. During the presentation of the material, the enthusiasm of the participants was very good, they were very responsive to what was discussed. In the socialization activity, we, CoE group-3 interns, also had time to give a questionnaire to them to recap the data on the level of stress faced by Anggrek Maya members towards their profession. Then after filling out the questionnaire, it was continued with a question and answer session or sharing session with the presenters and participants.

Mrs. Wiwik as the chairperson of Anggrek Maya added that “This kind of socialization activity is expected to continue to be empowered, so that AM members not only gather together but also get very useful knowledge and hope that student interns continue to assist AM until the end.

The reason is that activities like this are one of the practical efforts by UMM Social Welfare Students to answer community needs, so that by holding this activity it can provide benefits and can empower in order to achieve the capacity and quality of beneficiaries.  It is hoped that Anggrek Maya members can continue to learn anywhere because it is for their own needs and knowledge.
