On Sunday, May 19, 2024, Group 1 of the Center of Excellence (CoE) Social Welfare Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FISIP UMM) was active in supporting the filling of administrative requirements for prospective beneficiaries at the “Putra Cindekia” Education Care Post. This activity was attended by 3 clients, namely Amel, Aris, and Putra, as well as Mrs. Nanik as the Post Coordinator.
In the context of the service, this group carried out a follow-up to the results of the previous assessment. It was found that the three clients had not completed attendance (signatures) and taken report cards in the previous semester. In an effort to provide support and motivation, both the group and Mrs. Nanik gave advice to them to remain enthusiastic in pursuing education and studying.
On this occasion, a new beneficiary, Syahri, was also registered. Syahri was previously a student at a formal school and was in the 5th grade. However, due to his focus on his work, his education began to be neglected, and in the end he refused to continue his formal education. To overcome this dropout problem, Syahri was enrolled at the Putra Cindekia Education Post with permission from himself and his parents. It was hoped that this step would help Syahri return to a better education.
